Soooo I haven't... been around a while. My gosh, my INBOX. WOW. I never thought I'd be as taken with tumblr as I am, but it turns out that's where all the art is! I'm a little disappointed that no one on the internet has a place to get good feedback for their work anymore. dA used to be much more supportive and helpful but no so much these days?? But um. As far as inspiration goes, tumblr is tops. Anyway, a reminder that I am here:
[link]I still don't make art very often, but when I do you'll probs see it there first.
Also, I apologize to everyone who's sent messages and inquiries and the like and I'll try not to avoid you for too much longer, but I've got a lot to catch up on! See you soon
P.S. How rad is the new "more like this" feature?! I looked at what dA thought was similar to my art and it's all these people whose work I really love and admire and I def don't deserve to be put in a group with them BUT WHATEVS HAHA OMG ;u;
Tumblr tempts me so. So. So. Much. But I've found my cheat sheet paper of accounts and once I delete like all of them maybe having tumblr won't seem like 'oh jeez another site bleh'. :'DD
So when I do make one I may or may not be asking you how to use it if it's complicated haha.
And yes! I just got it the other day! I guess they're slowly putting it in place and it's great. I love it. More like this is such a great idea.
But no, seriously, I love what you post!
And thanks, that's good to hear!
Such "original content" doesn't even need to be an incredibly novel idea or anything--I just think that the ability to reblog tends to kind of take away, from many people, the desire to personally express their creativity, even if that expression might have just been partially or wholly an emulation of the art that inspired them. I suppose because they see reblogging as expressionism in itself, which perhaps it is, but I have seen a lot of fellow artists and writers fall prey to this reblogging-as-expressionism and that act negating their desire to create entirely... and then they wonder why they no longer draw, paint, write, or whatever is applicable, even though they have such a wealth of inspiration.
Others really do get raw inspiration from reblogs without falling into this void, and that's awesome, but I feel like most people fall into the first category.
